Scorpion Production Group Delivers Full Production for UHDB Make a Difference Awards at St George’s Park

Scorpion Production Group was once again proud to support the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) for their annual Make a Difference Awards, hosted at the esteemed St George’s Park.

The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the dedication and achievements of staff working across the UHDB Trust in a variety of vital roles. From medical professionals to behind-the-scenes support teams, the awards evening highlighted the incredible efforts made by individuals and departments to improve patient care and community wellbeing.

This marks the second year that Scorpion Production Group has supported this event, supplying a full suite of technical services to ensure the evening was delivered to the highest standard.

Complete Event Production Support

Scorpion was responsible for delivering the full event production, including intelligent lighting, room-wide audio, and a large LED video wall, as well as the live camera operation and video playback management.

Lighting
A professional intelligent lighting system was used to highlight presenters, enhance stage presence, and add visual impact throughout the ceremony. Carefully programmed lighting transitions were tailored to match key moments during the awards, from presenter walk-ons to winner announcements.

Audio
Clear and even sound was essential to ensure that everyone in the room could fully engage with the evening. Our tailored PA system was installed to suit the venue’s acoustics, with wireless microphones and audio mixing provided by an experienced technician. The result was clear, consistent sound coverage across the space, supporting speeches, announcements, and live elements of the event.

LED Wall and Visuals
At the heart of the visual production was a large high-resolution LED wall, used throughout the night to display awards graphics, pre-recorded video content, and live camera feeds. Operated by our in-house team, the LED wall added a highly professional and branded visual identity to the event.

The inclusion of two live broadcast cameras meant that attendees could view presenters and award winners clearly, regardless of their position in the room. The footage was seamlessly mixed with graphics and video content, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for the audience.
