Scorpion Production Group Returns to Cake International with Bespoke Stand for The Cake Decorating Company

Scorpion Production Group was once again proud to return to Cake International at the NEC Birmingham, delivering a major exhibition build for long-standing client The Cake Decorating Company. As the world’s largest cake decorating and sugarcraft show, Cake International draws thousands of visitors from across the UK and beyond — and The Cake Decorating Village is always one of the most popular attractions.

This year’s stand was the largest Scorpion has delivered for the event to date and featured a highly functional, flexible layout that supported live baking, retail sales, demonstrations and customer interaction throughout the busy weekend.

A Large-Scale Exhibition Village

The stand spanned an impressive 35 metres by 7 metres, making it one of the most prominent spaces on the show floor. Designed as a self-contained village-style layout, it featured five individual retail areas, each branded to reflect the identity of the different product offerings within The Cake Decorating Company’s portfolio. In addition to these zones, several dedicated demonstration areas were included to allow for live product showcases. One major area was even fitted with a fully functioning oven, allowing for on-stand baking throughout the event. This feature helped draw large crowds and allowed staff and guest decorators to demonstrate products and techniques in a real-world setting.

Power Distribution and Lighting

To support the wide range of equipment across the stand, Scorpion provided a comprehensive power distribution system, run cleanly and safely from a main truss backbone. This was then branched out to each retail unit and demo station, powering tills, lighting, ovens and other electrical requirements without compromise. A full LED lighting package was installed throughout the stand. This included overhead lighting for product visibility, feature lighting to draw attention to key products and demonstration spaces, and an adjustable lighting zone where staff could manually dim or brighten the area depending on the presentation or audience needs.

Branding, Graphics and Visitor Experience

Each area of the village was clearly defined using bespoke branded graphics, installed by Scorpion’s team. Custom graphic holders were used to frame header boards and retail signage in a consistent style, while still allowing each unit to express its own identity. The result was a clean, cohesive, and immersive visitor experience — visually attractive from every angle and easy to navigate. The graphics and layout helped customers identify the different product types, watch live demonstrations, and interact with the brand in a way that felt intuitive and engaging.
